  • Provided this new campaign is successful, the Teacher Planners will ship Mid-June 2024.
Possibly sooner, but we want to err on the side of caution.
We recognize this is later than ideal, and later than the original plan.
Because we fell short of the original campaign goal (at least in part due to launching the campaign during the holidays) we had to push back the date in order to launch a new campaign, thus pushing back our production start time.

  • Fair question -
It took us a few years in the e-commerce space to learn we can't make that approach square with our zero-waste ethos or our vision of responsible/ethical capitalism.
Producing high quality, small batch, made in the U.S., zero-waste products requires significant up-front investment and loans.
Once we begin accruing these costs, we're forced to invest heavily in social media advertising and gimmicks to market and sell the planners as quickly as possible.
This approach is expensive and insidious - once you start, you can't stop, and to make it effective, it requires marketing tactics that feel manipulative and out of alignment with our principles (Buy More Save More!! 🤮 Special Sale Ends Today!).
On top of marketing and advertising costs, there is the cost and carbon footprint of freighting thousands of planners (essentially shipping trees) from California to a fulfillment center in the midwest that can from there store, pack, and ship orders 100% plastic-free, over however long it takes for them to sell out.
    $$$$$$$
In the end, we were playing a zero-sum (actually worse than that) numbers game, and the stress was overwhelming and we felt we had lost our way.
Crowdfunding will ensure every planner produced has a home before it is made.
By securing funds for production ahead of time, we can manage the required material deposits and manufacturing costs without loans, and without gambling on the variable effectiveness of advertising.

Thank you for being part of our effort to reduce waste, and for supporting a small stubborn business making products of integrity in the United States.
